My Furry Babies

Ok, so I blogged about my snakes, so now I have to give equal time to my furry babies. Those who know me, also know that I love cats. I want a baby (of the human kind) but since it does not seem to be what God wants for me, at least at this time, I am happy to love on and spoil my cats. One of them, the orange and white one is Kitty. He is 18 years old!! I have had him since I was a teenager, and he and I have been through a ton of "life" together. Needless to say, I am pretty close to him........for those of you who can understand how a person can be "close" to an animal. He is my baby, now and forever. He sleeps on my pillow, and usually with his head resting on my head. It is very cute.
A few years ago, Mike and I adopted two sister baby kittens. They are Karlee and Kaylin. They are the two grey ones in the photo together. Those two are such neat cats. They are sisters...basically twins, yet they have totally different personalities! Karlee is much like a dog. She loves to play fetch, loves to chase lights, and plays with and carrys around her toys. Kaylin is much more laid back. She does play with toys, but is much more independent. They are both very loving cats though, and they seem to adore each other. I have many many pictures of them sitting or sleeping next to each other or with their paws around each other. Too cute!
The solid grey cat is Gracie. She was a stray that was on my porch in New Albany one night when I came home from work. I was used to seeing cats out there all of the time, but she did not run off when I walked over to the porch. She had an injury on her back, but it did not seem to bother her too much. I did clean it up and put medicine on it. She immedately warmed up to me, and I fell in love with her right away. We started to feed her and love on her, and when we moved to Palmyra, she came with us. It was then that she started living inside the house. She still goes outside daily, but she has really come to love the pampered life of an inside cat.
So, those four, along with my two snakes, which I blogged about before this, make up my "kids". Maybe someday I will have a "human kid" to blog about, but in the mean time I will love on and spoil my furry and scaley children.

As a fellow cat lover, I can relate. Isn't it cool how they have so many human traits? I really think cats are smarter than most people give them credit!

Love the "moustache" on Kitty! Your babies area adorable, and make no mistake - they KNOW they are your babies. That's why they can get away with so much!
